گارمین همیشه همه سلیقه ها را در نظر میگیرد. پس از استقبال ورزشکاران از نسل دوم ساعت Garmin Epix شرکت گارمین تصمیم گرفته که هم زمان با معرفی سری پرو فنیکس، سری پرو اپیکس را هم معرفی کند.

اما بر خلا ف فنیکس سری پرو اپیکس نسل ۲ دستخوش تغییرات قابل توجهی شده. که مهم ترین آنها، ارائه این محصول در سه سایز کوچک ۴۲ میلیمتر و متوسط ۴۷ میلیمتر و بزرگ ۵۱ میلیمتر است .

اما این تنها تغییر مهم اپیکس نبوده و برای اولین بار اپیکس گارمین با چراغ قوه FLASH LED ارائه شده. در واقع هر سه سایز این ساعت دارای یک چراغ قوه فلش ال ای دی هستند که با رنگ سفید و قرمز روشن می شود. طبق نظرسنجی از ورزشکاران به علت دم دست بودن، این چراغ قوه بسیار کاربردی است.

همچنین سنسور ضربان قلب این ساعت ها به سنسور جدید ضربان قلب اپتیکال Garmin Evelate ارتقاع یافته که نسبت به مدل های قبلی دقت بیشتری دارد. با این سنسور شما همچنین می توانید از قابلیت ECG سنسور نوار قلب که قبلا در ساعت گارمین VENU 2 Plus عرضه شده بود بهره مند شوید.

یکی دیگر از تغییرات در این سری از ساعت های گارمین تبدیل درگاه ارتباطی آن به USB-C است، که سرعت بیشتری در انتقال دیتا و همچنین شارژ ساعت دارد.

هر سه سایز این ساعت مجهز به صفحه نمایش AMOLED و البته لمسی Touch Screen هستند و شارژ خورشیدی ندارند.

حدود ۳۰ پروفایل ورزشی جدید به این سری ساعت ها اضافه شده که می توان گفت بزرگترین جهش را در پروفایل های ورزشی داشته است.

همچنین در این سری از ساعت های گارمین EPIX (GEN2) PRO برای حالت SatIQ پیکربندی شده‌اند، به این معنی که در مواقع لزوم از GNSS چند باندی استفاده می‌کنند.

در گارمین اپیکس 2 پرو حالت جدید Redshift وجود دارد. در این حالت ساعت کل نمایشگر را به سایه‌های قرمز/مشکی تغییر می‌دهد که برای استفاده شبانه بسیار کاربرد دارد .
